Camps

Every year, Opera Theatre of Saint Louis offers a variety of camps for all students grades 4-12 throughout the Saint Louis Metropolitan Area. Our Opera Camp for Kids!, offered in two different one-week sessions, is geared towards engaging late elementary and early middle school students (grades 4-7) in the art form. The week-long camp session focuses on a specific opera from the current OTSL season, and the campers will spend the week creating their very own adaptation! From music and libretto to set and costumes, the campers experience everything that goes into creating an opera. Spring Training Vocal Camp is for late middle school and high school students (grades 8-12) to learn more about cultivating their own skills as a performer. During the week long session, students receive daily voice lessons with local professionals, as well as participate in masterclasses and specialized sessions in stage movement/combat, stage makeup, acting, and more. At the end of week, the campers participate in a recital where they get to perform not only as a soloist, but in a fully-staged opera scene as an ensemble! The Spring Training program offers two different one-week sessions. Both camps get the chance to see a professional production at Opera Theatre of Saint Louis (tickets included in camp tuition.) Tuition assistance for both Opera Camp for Kids! and Spring Training Vocal Camp is available to those who qualify.
